Joseph Keckler is a vocalist, writer and artist who was recently described by the New York Times as a "singer whose range shatters the conventional boundaries... major vocal talent." His work often combines autobiography, humor, and classical images and themes. He has performed at SXSW, BAM, Miami Art Basel, Centre Pompidou and many other venues. His work has been featured on WNYC Soundcheck and BBC America in and 2013 The Village Voice named him "Best Downtown Performance Artist" in NYC. Last year he made his off-broadway debut at Lincoln Center in Dave Malloy's Preludes. He is currently finishing an album, and a collection of his essays and stories s is forthcoming from Turtle Point Press this fall.
